Last working day of the month

Calculate the last working day in a given month for any Spanish municipality. The tool starts at month-end and walks backward past weekends and published holidays.

Not a legal-deadline calculator. For a binding administrative, court, tax or employment deadline, verify the applicable rule and official gazette.

Find the last working day of a month

Choose a municipality from the list so regional and available local holidays can be applied.

    Rules

    How it works

Select municipality, year and month inside 2024–2026. Coverage is limited to published calendars so the answer cannot silently invent future holidays.

The engine takes the last calendar day of that month and steps backward until it lands on a Monday–Friday without a published holiday for that place.

If month-end is already a working day, that date is returned. If it falls on a Sunday or a local feast, you get the previous working day instead.

Use the municipality link in the result to inspect which holidays affected that month.

    Use cases

    When to use this tool

    • Set month-end close, billing or reporting cut-offs that should land on a Spanish working day.
    • Check whether the last day of December or a bridge-heavy May is a holiday in a specific town.
    • Compare month-end across territories when regional calendars diverge.

    Working-day definition on festivos.io

Here a working day is Monday–Friday that is not a published national, regional or local public holiday for the chosen Spanish municipality. Saturdays and Sundays are always excluded. Half-days, company calendars, collective agreements and court or tax rules can define a different day — this page does not apply those special regimes.

Why pick a municipality for month-end?

Month-end can coincide with a regional or local holiday that differs by territory.
